Poon Hill Trek Day 4 - Tadapani to Ghandruk

The guesthouse at Tadapani was the busiest of all the guest houses we stayed in. I think all roads in the Annapurna must lead through Tadapani. We saw more trekkers here than in any other guest house during our stay so far.
The guesthouse was also the most rustic. There was only one sink and two shared toilets (one western and one Asian) for all the guests staying on our floor. There was also only one shower, but you had to pay extra to get the key to use it. The walls between rooms were thin, and we all were a bit cold while sleeping.
However, we had another spectacular sunrise that we didn’t need to hike an hour to get to, and the view at breakfast was hard to beat.

We set off at 9 am for a three-hour downhill hike to the village of Ghandruk. My legs were feeling sore today, so I was thankful for a shorter walk.
This route reminded me a lot of the hikes in Virginia. There was lots of tree cover, mossy forests and paths with lots of rocks.
Tom started the hike today singing the “bear” song. It’s a call and repeat that Lucy loves. She then took up the refrain and continued to sing for the entire duration of the hike.
We arrived at our guesthouse, which was in a pretty Gurung village.

At lunch, I had Tukpa for the first time, which was was probably the best chicken noodle soup of my life. After some coffee and a rest we explored the village and ended up at the Gurung Musuem where we learned about village life and had some fun trying on traditional dress.
We had video of all of us dancing to Nepali songs, but the boys asked me not to post anything of them dancing. But, they may let you see on a case by case basis. Message me and I'll permission from them. It's worth it to see Tom and the boys dancing with khukuris.
However, I don't mind you seeing me and Tom's little Bollywood moment.
I certainly didn’t expect to have this kind of fun on our trek in the Himalayas!

Goobers!
I'm just amazed you could dance after all that hiking!
